Captain Jarrid started as a deckhand when he was
10 years old working with Bill Walsh aboard
the El Matador for 9 years.
He then went to Dutch Harbor Alaska and commercially fished crab in the Bering Sea for 11 years. When he started in Alaska he worked his way from processor to deck boss, where he was also night driver/1st mate.
He took about 10 years off from fishing and explored different avenues until he decided to get back into the industry of fishing, which is his true passion.
He then took a job aboard a 181 foot commercial crabber in Argentina where he was for about 5 years.
After that he returned to start charter fishing
out of Westport for various charters and has been
doing that until he decided to purchase
his own charter boat in 2021.
Over the last few years, he also had the pleasure of running the Rachel Carlson/University of Washington biology/scientific research boat as time allowed.
He has many years of experience charter fishing and has been around boats all of his life, including owning
his own pleasure/fishing boats.
He has had a 100 ton Captain’s license
for the last 10 years.
Jarrid likes to laugh and have fun
so be prepared to have a good time!
Crew - TBD!
You'll be riding upon a 30' Coldwater aluminum boat,
capable of taking 6 passengers and 2 crew,
skippered by none other than Captain Jarrid Horn who has over 35 years in the Westport fishing industry.
You will be on a guided charter boat fishing trip out of Westport, WA for salmon, halibut, lingcod, bottom fish or tuna.
What you fish for is dependent on what season it is.
Fishing begins in March and goes through September.
We will do our best and hope that you catch a lot of fish
but we cannot guarantee that -
that's why they call it fishing and not catching!
We do know that you will have a fun trip no matter what and a bad day fishing is better than a good day working!
